Sony insider get's wiped as he posts his views on the PS3 onto the internet. The site in question has since pulled down the article, and even Google's cache doesn't seem to be functioning at the moment.

I have been pretty excited about the whole cell processing thing. I am not a very technical person but my understanding of it was pretty clear. (Multiple processors to handle individual events in parallel). Sounds pretty good to me! To hear people talk, you’d thing that a processor revolution was about to happen. So I’ve been pretty excited to say the least. Now in my opinion it doesn’t matter how good the PS3 is. If the XBOX 360 is better, then it doesn’t really matter how the cell processors work or how good they say it is. Realistically one of them will be better over all. Now I’ve spoken with people who are on the technical side of the PS3. I’ve also talked with people on the technical side of the XBOX 360. The consistent comment I am hearing from people on my end is, “The XBOX 360 is better”. They are saying that it is capable of just doing more.

We’ve all seen Gears of War for the XBOX 360. If that even looks half as good when it comes out then I’ll be floored! The game we are making isn’t even in the same league as Gears of War.

In closing, I started off VERY excited about the PS3. I was very confident that it was going to just destroy the XBOX 360 just on the name SONY alone. The more time that goes by the more I am becoming doubtful. Everything I’ve developed or seen developed has yet to be “next gen”.

I forget where i read this but i did read the whole thing. He didnt really diss the ps3 to much in whole. He said he heard it was better, and in my opinion i hope it is but, he never said himself it was. All he said was he was developing a game for ps3 and it was half assed game. Im starting to think i read it on cnet.com or one a ebgames xbox360 review.

He's not really committing to any kind of opinion in the article. Basically he's saying the he's hearing from other developers that the 360 is better, which is not his own hands-on opinion, as has already been mentioned above.

What he is saying is that any of the games released at launch will not be showing the system's true potential. Which can be said of the 360 too. We will not see either of the machines true abilities until a year plus after release. People were still making impressive work on PS2 recently, such as the Burnout series and the fantastic (for an aging system) visuals seen in the Transformers game.

As for the story being bullshit. That's just close-minded rubbish spewing from the crap-geyser of an idiot. The proof is in the Google-cache.

Sony has overblown their console putting in all this stuff: ie the bluray drive, the cell processor, multi-card reader , six USB ports and so. They are going agianst the simplicity that the PS1 was and gave sony the lead in the console wars. This complexity will hurt sony in the long run in high costs and developer problems. Microsoft kept it simpler with the 360 revolutionary but mainstream, so I forsee Microsoft leading Sony in the future

I think people are letting their judgements to be clouded because of the earlier consoles of Sony and Microsoft. People should make up their own minds about the PS3 and X360 based on these two consoles and these two consoles alone.

well, I'm a fan of both systems. I'll probley end up with them both after awhile. But from the launch of the 360, I can see that the future is gonna be bright for microsoft. Seeing reviews of The new Elder scrolls game and what there doing with the A.I. is ground breaking. Yea, the PS3 will have my favorite game, Metal Gear Soild 4. But We still don't know what the PS3 can really do, in terms of A.I. and etc. Sony has just been showing us Trailers or the games. And trailers can only take you so far. So we'll see that Sony has in Due time, But you have to give it I microsoft, there systems was release that date they gave us and there is already great and ground breaking games on the market for the 360 and games on the way there are gonna blow our minds, So.....can Sony really deliver what there promising? Cause what there promising is dang there a sub-super computer with a huge price tag. Blue-Ray DvD alone is 1800$ for the player. so how much will the PS3 be with that in it? my guess is the cheapest 1000$

I recently heard the xbox 360 is not doing well in Japan. So what is the news flash??? the Japanese hated anything unjapanese so it is typical that even if Microsoft did create the system right....which they did, all the games I played are great and systems looks vastly better, and more appealing then the Xbox 1. It is not bad design that is hurting xbox 360 sales in Japan. It is that the Japanese are naturally brutally unfairly baised in not buying American made things or and 'unjapanese thing' for that matter. To bad we in North America are not as biased when it comes to buying ' Unnorth American' things like the PS3. That you send a message like you are biased and unfair so we can be equally biased and unfair too.

I agree with you Mike. But look at the main reason that the 360 will not have sucess. Games. Only one game comes to mind that the japanesse market will like that's on the 360 so far and that is Dead or Alive 4. oh yea, and the couple of racing games that are out. Sony has the advantage in japan because like you said, there a japan based company. The same should be said about the XBox last year, which out sold the PS2. I think we should support the 360, cause its a U.S. basic compamy and also Sony. There both great companies and have been bring us as gamers joy and will continue to do such. Think to yourself, what type of games do i like? and if that answer is to wide, then get both systems, but if you like games with more of a western theme, get the 360, and if it's the East that you like, PS3 is that way to go.

Well that is one thing the xbox is lacking, if I were Microsoft I would try to get all the major Japanese players like Capcom, Konami..etc on board that is one thing that is hurting the xbox....the lack of classic Japanese titles and in some ways the Japanese do create better titles than American companies. But the xbox has tons of good games so I think it is unfair for the Japanese to dismiss the 360 because of some ingrained cultured hatred of 'foreign' things.

That's a good way to do it, but.... will the import games sell in America? The First problem I see with imports is Content. Such as Sex. There are a ton of Japanese game that are mainly sex related or have some kind of nudity in them. With the uptight politicans we have, it hard to get alot of games here. Think about GTA:SA and the hot coffee mod. First you have a extremely violent game, with sex and drugs and then theres a mod that allws you to see the charaters nude. People freak out over that, for no good reason, talking about we dont want that in the hands of our kids. Well first of all the game was rated M+. So 17 and up. So it wasn't meant for kids to start with. So if our kids are going a hold of it, its the parents fault for allowing them to play that type of game. Then that recall the game, do but a Adult rating on it, and up the year of age to play to, get this 18, wow its went up one year and then they took the nudity part out, so what was the point for the A rating? And this a American made game. So you think about games coming here. It has to be strongly supported to make it here. I feel you dude, I like japan games more than i like American games. The only game I can say as of right now that is killing every game on the market is The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion for the PC and Xbox. if you like open ended games and tons of downloadble upgrades, then thats your game. And Lu, I agree with you to, I like playing some games of the PS2 whether then the Xbox, games like Metal Gear. But over all I'll support the Xbox 360 over the PS3. Danm will sony release some more info on the dang thing already!

my breakdown

Weaknesses:Needs games like metal slug, contra, castlevnia..more console like titles, Lack of major japanese support by companies that produce console friendly titles like konami, capcom...etc (If I micosoft I would aggressively be getting japanese development support both classic titles and nex-gen titles) making the system still kinda feel too PC like, lack of a killer app like Halo or any game that has a 'revolutionary" feel to it, not being able to stream mediaplayer movies from a windows based CPU to your 360 (I want to watch lesbian porn streamed through my XP PC to my TV, Microsoft!!!!!!!! damn you!!!!) a DVD drive...could be a positive or a negative

Strength:Nex-gen and easier to develop for, Microsoft slowly getting more japanese support, xbox live (a possible mega advantage), Live arcade (with all 2D arcade, genesis, SNES and NES classics with online support...that would rock!!!! evenually though) ...although I wish microsoft would release more classics and gets more japanese classics on live arcade like all double dragons, shinobi, all 2D contras, all 2D castlevanias, All 2D Sonic the hedgehogs, superdodge ball, bad dudes, river city ransom...etc, simpler design, simpler to develop for, less fluff than the PS3, great first party developers like Rare and Bungie, music, picture support, dvd drive...either a positive or a negative

Well PC ports like quake 4 and far cry are good if kept to a small portion of games released. Too many PC titles make the console feel like a PC which Microsoft does'nt need. Having DOA 4 and Ninja Gaiden on the 360 is a start. The thing is Sony and the PS2 had titles like Contra, Shinobi and so...these are titles that lauches previous consoles along time ago and made these consoles successful. Microsoft NEEDS these games, like Maddox says ". No Soul.
You'll never see games like Metal Slug, Radiant Silvergun or Castlevania come out for the Xbox because Microsoft hasn't made the system attractive to the Japanese market. Capcom, Konami, SNK and a slew of other big game developers have turned their backs towards the Xbox except for a cursory presence with a half-hearted title port. There is light at the end of the tunnel, however. Sega is working on a Panzer Dragoon title as well as Toe Jam & Earl III. Regardless, the Xbox is still a PC at heart, right down to the hard drive and buggy software." So microsoft needs to attract these developers and get them away from Sony...release them as exclusives if need be. It would be cool to have castlevania, metal gear, Contra, King of fighters etc on the xbox 360 only.

Well there is one definate point that the PS3 will be better than the x360, for one it has a blu-ray drive so one side of BD-ROM will have 25gb of data double sided will be 50gb so that constitues better quality of gaming, x360 are still stuck on dvd !! oh and the ps3 looks alot better !

I think that the programmers of companies should start to pick up on the hardware that the 360 has and they'll start programming some new next-gen titles that will revolutionize the gaming world. Oblivion is due out later this month and that game in my opinion will be the game that sells consoles just because its that good.
